Mr. Hidalgo is a CPA – Lawyer and the Head of the Law Firm’s Tax Practice Group. The Tax team is composed of lawyers focused in handling tax disputes and other tax matters related to start-up business operations, corporate structures, fiscal incentive applications, customs and tax investigations and other government compliance requirements. He also heads the Law Firm’s Mining Practice Group and acts as Corporate Secretary and Board of Director of several companies in the Philippines. Mr. Hidalgo joined the Law Firm in 1989 handling tax, corporate and related labor matters. Upon his promotion to the Partnership, he concentrated in handling tax litigation and other related tax issues before the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Customs, Court of Tax Appeals and the Supreme Court. Mr. Hidalgo earned his Bachelor of Science Major in Accounting at San Beda College in 1983 and his law degree at the Ateneo Law School in 1988. As a regular member of the Tax Department of the Philippine Judicial Academy where he is also a Professorial Lecturer, Mr. Hidalgo participates, among others, in the training and evaluation of applicants to the Judiciary. He has also authored a number of Tax Articles published in International Journals and has been cited among the recommended Tax Practitioners in the Philippines.

He acquired his LL.B. degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law and graduated in 1988, where he got the Dean’s Medal award. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1989. He joined the firm in 1989 as an Associate, and was admitted to the partnership in 1996. He attended Northwestern University (Kellog Graduate School of Management) in Evanston, Illinois for his MBA degree and graduated in 1995 with concentrations in marketing, real estate finance, and decision sciences. In 2013 he received an LL.B. (QLD – England and Wales) from the University of London. Mr. Padilla is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Philippine Bar Association. Pido’s practice areas are labor law, civil and criminal litigation, and appellate practice in the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. He has lectured in a number of labor education seminars and assisted in the drafting of National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) rules and regulations. He became an Executive Labor Arbiter of the NLRC from 1986 to 1991 and had a brief stint as a partner of Pido, Quimbo & Guades Law Office from 1991 to 1994 before returning to Siguion Reyna Montecillo & Ongsiako as a partner on January 1994. Mr. Pido graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1982 and was a member of the Order of the Purple Feather Honor Society. Also, he has been a member of Calbayog, Samar’s Doers Group for 15 years. The Doers Group organizes the annual city fiesta celebration for the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mr. Pido is involved in the sports of table tennis and basketball.
