Mr. Hidalgo is a CPA – Lawyer and the Head of the Law Firm’s Tax Practice Group. The Tax team is composed of lawyers focused in handling tax disputes and other tax matters related to start-up business operations, corporate structures, fiscal incentive applications, customs and tax investigations and other government compliance requirements. He also heads the Law Firm’s Mining Practice Group and acts as Corporate Secretary and Board of Director of several companies in the Philippines.

Mr. Hidalgo joined the Law Firm in 1989 handling tax, corporate and related labor matters. Upon his promotion to the Partnership, he concentrated in handling tax litigation and other related tax issues before the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Customs, Court of Tax Appeals and the Supreme Court.

Mr. Hidalgo earned his Bachelor of Science Major in Accounting at San Beda College in 1983 and his law degree at the Ateneo Law School in 1988. As a regular member of the Tax Department of the Philippine Judicial Academy where he is also a Professorial Lecturer, Mr. Hidalgo participates, among others, in the training and evaluation of applicants to the Judiciary. He has also authored a number of Tax Articles published in International Journals and has been cited among the recommended Tax Practitioners in the Philippines.


It has come to the attention of Siguion Reyna Montecillo & Ongsiako (SRMO) that unauthorized individuals are falsely representing themselves as partners or associates of the Firm. These individuals are misusing the Firm’s name, as well as the names of our lawyers to solicit payments or offer fraudulent legal services.

These activities are being carried out through SMS, Viber, Facebook, generic email providers (such as Gmail or Yahoo), and other social media or messaging platforms.

The Firm disclaims any responsibility for dealings with imposters. If you are contacted by anyone claiming to be affiliated with SRMO and you have doubts as to their identity, do not provide personal information or make any payments.
