Privacy Notice

In compliance with the Data Privacy Act (“DPA”), its implementing rules and regulations and various issuances of the National Privacy Commission (“NPC”), notice is hereby given that SRMO’s Privacy Policy applies to any person who (a) visits Siguion Reyna, Montecillo and Ongsiako (SRMO) law offices and SRMO website, (b) meets with our SRMO lawyers and non-legal staff, or (c) in any way contact SRMO lawyers and non-legal staff.

Who we are

SRMO Law offices provides the full range of legal services for any activity involved in doing business in the Philippines. Our practice areas cover a wide range of legal problems and issues: we have an extensive general practice in corporate and commercial law, labor and employment law, civil / corporate / labor / criminal litigation, alternative dispute resolution, banking, securities, insurance, intellectual property, tax, product liability, commercial real estate transactions, computer and internet law, aviation and maritime law. Data that we Collect

SRMO Law Offices may collect data when you visit SRMO law offices, SRMO website, meet with our SRMO lawyers and non-legal staff, or in any way contact SRMO lawyers and non-legal staff.

Purpose

These data are being collected either (a) as part of SRMO’s functions as legal counsel and/or (b) for legitimate purposes under the DPA, such as security, fulfillment of a contract with the data subject, compliance with a legal obligation to which the personal information controller is subject, or as may be required by existing Philippine laws and regulations.

Specifically, when you engage SRMO as legal counsel, you agree and consent to SRMO collecting, using, storing, disclosing, sharing, deleting and otherwise processing that data as may be necessary for the purpose of the legal engagement.  When you disclose to SRMO personal data of other individuals, you warrant to SRMO  that you have secured the other individual’s consent or that you have authority to provide that data and that the other individual agreed or consented to this Privacy Notice.

Confidentiality

As a Law Office, in addition to the DPA, SRMO is also bound by the Code of Professional Responsibilities  and relevant provisions of the Rules of Court of the Philippines on confidentiality. As such, data shared with SRMO is considered as confidential and is not shared to persons outside the law firm, except when authorized by law or contract.

Data Sharing

When sharing of data is authorized by law or contract, SRMO shares data subject using necessary safety and security precautions to ensure that the data will be used only for legitimate stated purpose.

Retention

SRMO retains data as long as they are necessary based on the legal basis of the collection and as long as required by appropriate government agencies.

Rights of Data Subject

SRMO recognizes the rights of data subject as provided and listed under Section 16 of the DPA.

Reservations, Inquiries and Complaints

SRMO reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Notice any time and you are encouraged to regularly check this page.
