Rommel U. Mercado is a Senior Partner in Siguion Reyna, Montecillo & Ongsiako. He joined the firm in 1996.

Mr. Mercado has more than twenty-five years of experience dealing with a broad range of commercial matters. He has represented Philippine and foreign clients in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance including loan syndications and private placements, telecommunications, information technology, and energy. He also regularly advises clients on domestic and/or foreign investments, including all forms of company registrations and applications for fiscal and other incentives.

He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1996. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law in 1995, graduating second honors, and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1991. He received his Masters of Law (With Honors – Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar) from Columbia University in New York in 2002.

Mr. Rommel Mercado is also a Professor of Law at the Ateneo de Manila University. He is also a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Philippine Bar Association.
