Patrick V. Cocabo is an associate of Siguion Reyna, Montecillo & Ongsiako Law Offices (“SRMO”). Mr. Cocabo handles legal matters concerning corporate law, contract law, commercial arbitration, special projects, and litigation for SRMO. Prior to joining SRMO, Mr. Cocabo worked as an associate of Villaraza and Angangco Law Offices (“The Firm”) from January 2017 to January 2018. He was a member of The Firm’s corporate department. He also worked as an intern for Puno and Puno Law Offices.

Mr. Cocabo was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2017. In the same year, Mr. Cocabo attended classes at the Universitat de Barcelona-Faculty of Law, Spain, under the IELPO LL.M. ‘à la carte’ program. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree, with a specialized track in dispute resolution, from Ateneo Law School in 2016. While attending law school, Mr. Cocabo actively represented his school in various moot court and debate competitions. In 2016, his team finished in the semi-finals of the IELPO World Trade Organization Moot Court Competition in Singapore, ranked 3rd overall in the preliminary rounds, and won an award for best memorial. In 2014, his team, which earned the highest score during the national rounds, was chosen as the sole representative from the Philippines to the Asia Cup Moot Court Competition in Japan. He was awarded 5th overall best oralist in the region. He was also the team captain for both moot court competitions. He judged various moot court competitions such as the Colayco Cup, the finals of the Sta. Maria- Persons and Family Relations Moot Court Cup, and the finals of the The Chief Justice Claudio Teehankee Center for the Rule of Law Moot Court Competition. Mr. Cocabo was also a member of the Ateneo Law Debate Team and served as its Vice President for Training and Development. He represented his school in a debate exhibition before the House of Representatives, The Firm- ANC debates, and the Conflict of Laws debate tournament.

Prior to law school, Mr. Cocabo, together with his teammates, won the national debate championships in college. He was awarded as one of the top 10 best adjudicators in the country. He also coached the Ateneo High School Debate team for S.Y. 2010 to 2011. His students won both the Asian regional and the national championship. As a varsity member of the Ateneo Debate Society, then, the 7th best debating society in the world according to the World University Debate Rankings, he represented his college in several other local and international tournaments. He was also the chief prosecutor of Ateneo’s Student Judicial Court.

Mr. Cocabo also earned a professional license to practice as a Real Estate Broker from the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission in 2014. He graduated from the Gemological Institute of America-Robert Mouawad Campus, as Graduate Gemologist, Accredited Jewelry Professional, and Graduate Pearls in 2012. Mr. Cocabo received his Bachelor of Science in Management, major in Legal Management, from Ateneo De Manila University in 2011. He is also a proud alumnus of Xavier School.

Mr. Cocabo loves all animals and enjoys playing sports.
