She joined the law firm in 1981-1985 and in 1997 to the present. Her practice is in litigation (civil, criminal, labor and arbitration) and appeals.
A high-light in her practice is her involvement as the main pleader in the precedent-setting case of Ernesto S. Mercado v. Eduardo Barrios Manzano and COMELEC, G.R. No. 135083, May 26, 1999, on dual citizenship. She is also at present involved in cases relating to the NAIA Terminal 3 Project, with Fraport as the client.
Prior to joining the law firm, she served in Government: 1977-1981, as Head Supervising Attorney in the Chambers of then-Associate Justice Juvenal K. Guerrero of the Supreme Court and as Confidential Attorney in the Office of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; .1988 – 1994 as Majority Leader and Chair of the Committee on Rules, Ordinances and Legal Affairs of the Municipal Council of San Fernando, La Union; and, 1972, as Confidential Secretary and Liaison Officer of the Provincial Development Assistance Program –USAID in the Office of then- Provincial Governor Juvenal K. Guerrero of La Union.
She earned her Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines, ranking 13th of the graduating class. She also received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the same university. She is also a wife, mother, grandmother and sorority girl.
